Taking Digital Picture: Top 10 Tips
Good basic tips, that flash outside often gets me - as in I forget and my people are in a shadow. then I have to use photoshop to bring the subjects out of the shadows.

Great ideas! the first one I clicked on I had to save and mark as a first assignment for the new school year. Interview classmates to find information to make a speech of introduction and then use a picture of the subject as a focal point while the speech is being given.
Scanning Tips
Good tips for the first time scanner. I have used our scanner to reproduce old family pictures so that I have 3 copies of them to put in 3 scrapbooks for my siblings and I. One was a degerotype (sp) of my grandfather's father's grocery store in Chicago and the horse drawn delivery wagon.
Oh yes, scanners come in handy. I have a project waiting for me when all the schooling is finished - scan my Peace Corps slides to digitize and organize them into readily available themes.

I agree with you that these articles gave great tips. I too always forget to use the flash on a sunny day outside, it's nice to know I'm not the only one. With all the new information, I can't wait to get out there and take some more pictures.
I liked the lesson plan site too. We can feel comfortable with technology ourselves but yet feel awkward when trying to use it in a lesson activity. These lessons show the use of a digital camera in a way that adds to the lesson. Cameras are tools to creating and documenting. Students can use cameras for a topical study, or to show the scientific method stages as they run their experiment. Armed with the pictures they can then reflect on what they have learned and give the class a synthesized presentation of their experience and findings.
Photoshop is really amazing and though I have learned so much I still feel there is much more that I can learn. I have found several useful tutorials at delicious.com
